Courts Asia, the retailer of furniture and electrical machines, posted profit of $9.4 million for 1Q17, a 55.8% expansion from the income of $6 million in 1Q16.
For the quarter to June, income fell 0.9% to $196.3 million, on the back of a 0.3% drop in Singapore deals to $505 million and a 5.8% decrease in Malaysia deals in Singapore dollar terms to $248 million. In ringgit terms, Malaysia deals expanded by 1.7%.
In Indonesia, income rose 66.1% to $16 million, from recently opened stores.
